Privacy Policy

Tap2Card — digital business card app for Android and iOS. This policy describes what the app collects, why it needs each permission, and what you can do about it.

Summary

The Tap2Card app only collects data that you consciously enter (business card information, profile pictures). We do not sell your data and do not share it without your consent.

02What Data Do We Collect?

The Tap2Card app collects the following data:

Data you provide

  • Business card information: Name, job title, company, email address, phone number, website, address
  • Profile pictures: Photos for your digital business card
  • Received business cards: Contact details from other users shared via NFC, QR code, or link

Technical data

  • Account information: Email address for authentication. You can sign in with an email address and password, with Sign in with Apple, or with a Google account.
  • Device information: Operating system version (Android or iOS), app version

03App Permissions

The app requires the following permissions:

NFC Permission

Purpose Enables sharing and receiving business cards by tapping two devices together or writing to NFC tags. On iOS the device-to-device exchange runs over Bluetooth instead; NFC is used for writing tags.

Usage NFC is only activated when you use the Tap-to-Share or Write-to-Tag feature

Camera Permission

Purpose Enables scanning QR codes to receive business cards and taking profile pictures

Usage The camera is only activated when you use the QR scanner or profile picture feature

Internet Permission

Purpose Synchronization of your business card data with the cloud backend

Usage For authentication, data storage, and sharing business cards via links

04How Do We Use Your Data?

  • App functionality: To create, store, and share your digital business card
  • Contact management: Storing received business cards in your personal contact list
  • Sharing: Providing your business card via NFC, QR code, or shareable links
  • Support: Resolving technical issues

05Data Sharing

We do not sell your data!

Your data is only shared in the following cases:

  • Business card exchange: When you consciously share your business card with other users (via NFC, QR code, or link)
  • Technical service providers: Only for app operation (Supabase for backend services and data storage)
  • Legal requirements: When required by law

06Data Security

  • Encrypted data transmission (HTTPS/TLS)
  • Secure cloud infrastructure (Supabase)
  • Row Level Security (RLS) to protect your data from unauthorized access
  • Local data storage on your device
  • No storage of sensitive payment data

07Your Rights

You have the following rights regarding your data:

  • Access: Information about stored data
  • Rectification: Correction of incorrect data
  • Erasure: Deletion of your data
  • Data portability: Export of your data
  • Objection: Objection to data processing

08Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be announced in the app and on this page.

09Account and Data Deletion

You have the right to completely delete your account and all associated data at any time.

How to delete your account

  • In the app (recommended): Go to Settings → Delete account and confirm
  • By email request: If you can no longer access the app, contact us through the channels listed below
  • 30-day grace period: Your account is scheduled for deletion and you are signed out. For 30 days you can cancel by simply signing in again; after that it is permanently deleted
  • Sign in with Apple: if you signed in with Apple, that grant is revoked with Apple on your behalf once the deletion becomes permanent

What will be deleted

  • Your user account and login credentials
  • Your created business card and all associated information
  • Uploaded profile pictures
  • Received business cards in your contact list
  • All other data associated with your account
Important notice

Deletion is irreversible. After deletion, your data cannot be recovered.
